My name is Gábor Bloch, and I am a designer, master furniture designer, and the founder of Sette Design.
Founded in 2011, my family-owned company provides personalized, custom-made design and construction solutions for the built environment and its furnishings.
In my work I enjoy combining traditional analog methods of the artisan handicraft industry with the possibilities offered by modern industrial production technologies. The workshop atmosphere of my former high school, the Vocational High School of Fine and Applied Arts founded by Maria Theresa in 1778, coupled with the knowledge and love for historical materials I acquired there still influences my work to this day. My appreciation for the material harmony of forms and functions stems from the design-centric, object-creating approach espoused by the Institute of Applied Arts at the University of Sopron’s Faculty of Wood Industries.
My decade and a half of extensive knowledge in materials and manufacturing technology in the field of custom interior design based on applied arts and design studies provides a solid basis for the implementation of a variety of orders.
My diverse design activities focus on interiors and the furniture within interiors, but I also deal with other areas of our built environment where an artistic design vision is required.
In parallel with design, I also undertake production work in some cases. These tend to be demanding, challenging tasks requiring creative solutions, both in terms of design and in terms of experimenting with atypical manufacturing methods.
I complete work for private individuals and also supply designs and products to other manufacturing companies.
